Kendall & Shawn | Inn at the Olde Silk Mill Wedding

So, it rained. All. Day. For the first time in my career as being a wedding photographer I didn’t fear it. I saw the forecast and wasn’t worried. I knew that if rain were to happen to any of my couples, Kendall and Shawn would’ve been the ones. Let me explain because that sounds terrible… Rewind to their engagement session. It rained right before. Kendall texted me and said they still wanted to try the shoot. And we did. Half way through, it poured! We decided to wait it out under a porch on the UMW campus. 15 minutes later, no more rain, a little sun and her hair was looking more amazing than when we started. Rain had nothing on these two. They are the definition of optimism and it is so refreshing. So, when I woke up Saturday to the rain on my roof, I knew it would be a beautiful day. And it was. Happy as could be, Kendall and Shawn were married in front of their friends and family. We decided to go straight back to Inn at the Olde Silk Mill where their reception was taking place. That was the PERFECT spot for some rainy day portraits. And again, as it rained more and more, and I started to look like a drowned rat, Kendall’s curls were getting more and more beautiful. See for yourself below.  My favorite part of the day (besides the popcorn bar!)… Watching Shawn watch Kendall. Those two couldn’t be more in love and it was truly beautiful to see.   Kendall and Shawn, thank you for choosing me to be your wedding photographer. It was an honor. Huge thank you to Heather of Heather Adams Photography for second shooting the day with me!
