I had been watching the weather all week. Once the forecast said 100% chance of rain, I knew I had to mentally prepare myself. Clear umbrellas packed with a million scenarios in my mind. Mother Nature was in quite the mood. I walked into the Marriott and all of Katie and her girls were getting ready. Katie just might of been the most calm bride I have ever had. Rain was not phasing her. Tornado warnings, 2 inches of possible downpour…. and she said “it is what it is“. I knew at that point if she was calm, I would be too. Katie and Will exchanged vows at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in downtown Fredericksburg. Just after they became Mr. and Mrs. the heaviest rain began to pour. After family formals in the church, we walked outside with plans to go to the Jepson Center for portraits- umbrellas in tow – ready to brave the rain. Then, in true crazy wedding day fashion, the sun came out… the rain eventually stopped… and we had plenty of time and light to get pictures done. All the while, a roof of a local restaurant was caving in from all the rain! So, here’s to Will and Katie for having the most positive attitude any bride and groom could have. They rolled with the day, not stressing about ONE thing. They just wanted to be married and celebrate with all their friends and family. And celebrate they did! Fredericksburg Square’s dance floor was packed the WHOLE night. And a special thank you to Sara of Wolfcrest Photography for coming to my side the very last minute to hold umbrellas, carry bags and dresses in the rain! Enjoy some of my favorites below!
I couldn’t get enough of Katie’s shoes!
