Ok – so this is old news. Jordi and James have been married since April. I’m a little late to the website game (huge mistake – future photogs, don’t do this. Aaaand Dianne, I can hear you saying I told you so…) So, with that being said, I’m doing this all a bit backwards. For the next week I’m going to be posting weddings from 2010. What a year 2010 was. Through the power of word of mouth (thank you Ashley of C & A Events) and the oh so popular facebook I started getting messages about shooting weddings. These couples had hardly seen any of my work but, they trusted me. So, I got my Canon 5d Mark II, practiced on anyone that would let me shoot them, stalked blogs like crazy and just prayed I didn’t screw up. Well, I started my oh ten wedding season with Jordi & James. The closer the wedding approached I couldn’t shake the thought of - OMG, this is someone’s wedding day. BIGGEST day of their lives. And you’re responsible for capturing their memories. They. Trust. YOU. Whaaaat?! I was nervous – did I hide it well? Ha probably not. The day arrived and instantly my nerves were calmed when I walked into the dining room of Jordi’s childhood home. She was getting her hair done and told me to have a seat, hang out, grab a drink. I was no longer just the photographer, I was a friend and someone she trusted to have by her side all day. After chatting, the shooting began and the day went awesome. I can’t thank you enough Jordi and James (and Sue and Billy!) for being so great, so welcoming and so trusting. With each wedding I learned a little more, figured somethings out – what did and didn’t work. There is still so so SO much to learn and I am so thankful my 2011 lovebirds are going to be by my side as I continue to grow! I still approach each wedding with some nerves, but I know these couples are amazing and people I can call friends. Love. You. All. So, here it is – the second wedding ever shot by yours truly. Stay tuned for more!

Jordi and I joint designed the invites/programs/bags. She hand drew – I worked some Illustrator/InDesign magic.
