We all have them. We all need them… Best friends. I turn to mine all the time and they are always there for me. This is who Sue is to my mom. Sue is my mom’s ear when she needs to talk things out, her confidant, her source for laughter… And my mom is that to Sue. I’m so thankful my mom has a friend like Sue in her life… like I said, we all need them. So, when I found out Sue’s daughter Jordi was getting married, I was there! Jordi had met the love of her life, David, and tied the knot at Glasgow Farm in Stafford. It was an honor to be there for Sue just as she is always there for my mom. Jordi and David are a no-frills couple. They just wanted to spend their day with friends and family celebrating their love. In typical Virginia fashion, it was unusually not an overly hot day for the 4th of July, but a little thunderstorm rolled in just before the ceremony. Jordi didn’t mind…. she said it was good luck. This is why I love her. A go-with-the-flow bride makes you realize exactly why you’re there in the first place…. the love. David and Jordi were married with a few sprinkles dropping. All the people they care most about on looking… with umbrellas of course. After they said ‘I do’ the sun came out, the air cooled off and it was time to party – complete with fireworks! What’s the 4th of July without them?!
I just need to take a moment to talk about Glasgow Farm and the owners…. They were SO kind and SO mindful of everyone, including myself. The farm was the perfect rustic backdrop. Complete with an old gas station/country store, a vocal turkey, a curious goat, mason jar chandeliers, a spacious barn… I could just go on and on. If you are looking for a venue to host a farm wedding, definitely check them out. See for yourself below! Enjoy many of my favorites… I just couldn’t narrow it down. Congratulations Jordi and David! I hope you’re having the time of your life on your honeymoon!
Jordi’s dress was just perfect. Loved it so much!
Jordi’s mom, Sue, did all the dried lavendar florals. So beautiful!
A sweet first look with Jordi’s dad.
Love this barn!
Seeing his bride for the first time
I’d say he was speechless
A representative from each family poured water into a watering can. Jordi and David then watered their plant together. Loved this idea! Great alternative to a sand ceremony!
MARRIED!
Like I said – I just couldn’t get enough of this adorable venue.
Aren’t these bridesmaids bouquets gorgeous?!
Love this shot of David!
The little ones in this picture…. Priceless
Party time! Forgive my mass amount of details… I couldn’t resist!
Animal friends everywhere!
First dance time
David and his sister. Loved capturing this moment!
Classic.
One of my favorites!
Photographer disclaimer: This was a spur of the moment event. Though it’s not perfectly lit or perfectly sharp – I still love it! 4th of July weddings must have fireworks!
Congratulations Jordi and David!!!
