I’ve been excited for this wedding since our first meeting. I met with Lauren and Jordan a few months back. She explained to me they were getting married on a Thursday at Stevenson Ridge. I knew the day was significant but, we didn’t really elaborate. Fast forward to their wedding day. Thursday, August 1, 2013. That morning… it poured. I was sitting at work thinking… PLEASE clear up. This cannot be happening on their wedding day! I got to Stevenson Ridge, the sun was shining, Lauren looked beautiful, and everything was looking up. Time for the first look…. about 10 minutes in, the skies opened up again. It stayed pouring throughout the whole ceremony. No one really seemed upset. Lauren was just as calm as when she arrived to the Lodge to get ready. At the reception, her incredibly sweet dad, Buddy, gave a speech. And then it all made sense. He first started by saying August 1st was his wife, Suzanne’s birthday. What a way to remember your birthday…the day your baby girl married the love of her life. The day had more significance. Buddy went on to tell the room August 1st was his late parents wedding day. 65 years ago, they were married… in a rain storm. The whole day suddenly became 100 times more beautiful to me. I attempted to hide my tears from behind my camera because it was just that wonderful. Lauren and Jordan were a dream to work with. They were so laid back, up for anything and just really made me fall in love with what I do all over again. My favorites from their wedding day are below… and there are some sweet, special details throughout the post… Enjoy!
Jordan proposed to Lauren with that homemade box.
This dress…. so gorgeous.
Could that bouquet be anymore stunning? Please check out Anthomanic – you won’t be disappointed.
Jordan made Lauren a pair of fighting fish – to ward off any bad vibes that day!
Jordan waiting for his girl…
We had a little bit of time before the rain cut loose so we got in as many portraits as possible.
Stunning… really the only word for this girl.

One of my absolute favorites…
Ceremony time… they moved all their planned details inside. It was still gorgeous.
The blue blanket was Jere’s, Jordan’s late father. It was his prayer blanket from when he was sick.
The quilt on the rocker was Lauren’s late grandmother Helen’s prayer quilt from when she was in the hospital.
Married!!! Best first kiss ever!
After the ceremony, the rain stopped…we managed to get a few more portraits in before the reception!
The reception was held at the Riddick House.
Catering by Mosaic. SO yummy and gorgeous!
First dance!
Lauren and her adorable nieces!
Lauren’s dad… so, so sweet.
I snuck the happy couple outside for a few more pictures!
Time to celebrate the birthday girl!
Lauren and Jordan’s cake topper was made from a regular in a dive bar in Tulsa. They were taking a road trip, made a pit stop to see a concert and he told them “I am going to make you something with your initials.” In no time, he made that wire souvenir. How awesome is that?
I hope every guest grabbed this favor. The cookies were made by Jordan’s mother…. they were AMAZING…I might of had a few…..
