Kelli & Daniel | Grace Episcopal Church Wedding

I’m sure if someone said ‘you know that little old church on Gordonsville Road on the way to Charlottesville?’... you’ll know exactly what they’re talking about. That church had left an impression in my mind… It’s gorgeous.  When Kelli and Daniel told me they would be exchanging vows there, I was beyond excited.   In case you don’t know the name, like I didn’t, it’s Grace Episcopal Church in Keswick and it held their perfect wedding day…. the weather was gorgeous, the backdrop was amazing, the bride and groom were stunning.  Kelli and Daniel had been dating for 7 YEARS. They are another one of my high school sweet heart stories. I adore these.  These couples are just as in love today as they were in high school… Kelli and Daniel are no exception. Mr. and Mrs. McBee, thank you for allowing me to capture you wedding day! It was an unbelievably beautiful! I hope you’re having a blast in St. Croix! Enjoy my extra long post… I couldn’t narrow it down…

Kelli and Daniel opted for a first look. We had a ton of time for portraits!

Portrait time! These two were SO easy to photograph!

They went into a field for me with no hesitation. So glad they did!

Gorgeous!!

It’s been 7 years… time to get married!

Married!!!

Love this one!

Introducing Mr. and Mrs. McBee!

Let me explain this next set of photos… Kelli’s brother, Cpl. Dylan Grczin, is stationed on the USS New York. He is currently on an 8 month mission in the Mediterranean. He wasn’t able to share in Kelli and Daniel’s wedding day BUT Kelli’s dad had a cardboard cut out made. Guests were asked to send whatever photos they took with “Dylan”. Genius!!! Thank you Dylan for serving our country!

Congratulations, again!!!

Suzanne & Jon | Celebrations at the Reservoir Wedding

Finally!  Suzy and Jon tied the knot!  I had been waiting and waiting for this wedding ever since their engagement shoot.  I arrived at the manor house where Suzy and her girls were getting ready.  I quickly learned the flowers originally ordered were lost… the honeymoon booked had some travel issues and a loved one very dear to Suzy and Jon’s heart had been hospitalized.  The week from you know where happened to these two.  Did it get Suzy down? Absolutely not.  She was marrying Jon that day, wrong flowers and all.  Nothing but smiles, that girl was absolutely stunning.  The flowers came through, the honeymoon was worked out and the weather cooperated until everyone was under the reception tent.  Suzy and Jon shared their long awaited vows with family and friends. It was a beautiful day and I was so honored to be a part of it.  Enjoy a few of my favorites!

Suzy had monogram shirts made for her girls to get ready in!

So excited! Love it!

Gorgeous bridesmaids hair by the amazing Amie and Pam Petty!

Flowers by Jon’s family!

Married! And I love both of their reactions!

After the ceremony Lilly found a frog! That girl is fearless.

Jon is a cancer survivor.  Instead of favors, they donated money to the Massey Cancer Center.  Amazing.

Love this one!

The tent was a little wet… but Jon had no problem helping Suzy keep her dress off the ground.

Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Hetrick!

Katie & Kevin | Stevenson Ridge Wedding

On Saturday, April 28th, Kevin married his highschool sweetheart, Katie. It was perfect. When I met Katie during her initial consult, we talked a little bit about the wedding and a lot about Kevin.  She told me how they met in high school, how they went to college together and how they finally were getting married.  I knew they had originally planned a Disney wedding.  Kevin and Katie love, love Disney. So, when she switched to Spotsylvania, I was curious to know how the wedding would look.  It. Was. Amazing.  Katie had an awesome group of vendors and an incredible attention to detail. The day was just beautiful.  Their family and friends filled the Lodge with love and you could feel it.  There was nothing but smiles (and a few happy tears).  Katie’s dad pulled me aside during dinner and told me he had never seen anyone be as into my job as I was.  Mr. Erisman, you might not of known it, but you made my night.  And when you have amazing couples like Katie and Kevin, it’s so easy to get into my job.  Prepare yourself for an extremely long post… I had way too many favorites! Katie and Kevin, thank you for allowing me to capture your big day!

Kevin’s sisters served as Katie’s Maid of Honor and Bridesmaid. I adored their relationship.

Kevin and his groomsmen brought Katie and her bridesmaids a serious spread of sushi and beverages…of course without seeing her!

Surprise bridesmaids gifts!

A little touch of Disney…

Their first look! I’d say Kevin was pretty excited!

Portrait time! All taken before the ceremony.  A major benefit  of the First Look.

A favorite!

Katie! Seriously?! So, so pretty!

Another touch of Disney… Love this!

How cute is this little guy?!

Seeing her dad before the ceremony… so touching.

Married!

Fellow blog readers… the following 3 images are exactly why I cry at every single wedding.

Root beer float station!

Back story… Katie insisted no cake to the face (I’m on her side!)  Kevin, being the awesome guy he is 100% obliged.  But just to give the crowd what they wanted, he took a handful of cake to his own face. Pretty amazing.

Thank you again, Katie and Kevin!

Rustic Table Numbers | A Wedding Project

Again, full credit for this Wedding Project post goes to Pinterest. Chances are you have already seen this BUT I’m showing you anyway!  Wedding season is about to kick into full gear for me and I am so excited! I love how every single wedding is different!  The bride and groom really put SO much time and effort into planning their big day. The decor always seems to reflect the couples personalities and I’m always blown away at the different looks they come up with.  Even with the crazy world of Pinterest, couples still seem to find ways to put their own spin on DIY projects and add personal details. This post is dedicated to a rustic look.  Check out how to transfer numbers onto wood!  PS – You can do this with photos, too!   Here’s what you need:

Mod Podge (found at any craft store)

Gel Medium (found at any craft store)

Wood

Sponge (or Brush)

Scissors

Printed Number

(**VERY IMPORTANT** Number MUST be printed as a mirrored image!  Also, I HIGHLY recommend using a laser printer that uses toner vs. an ink jet printer)

Bowl of water

Cut out the number. Place a thin layer of gel medium onto the wood surface.

Place number and smooth out any wrinkles

LET SIT FOR 24 HOURS

Once time has passed, use damp fingers or towel to rub off paper.

Spread a thin layer of Mod Podge and let dry

That’s it!  A great centerpiece for a rustic tablescape!

And one more look…

HUGE thank you to my step-mom Judy for her gift in stylizing!

Lace Cones | A Wedding Project

I wish I could take credit for all of these ‘Wedding Project’ posts. But the one key element in all of them is PINTEREST!  Pinterest is the root of all things DIY wedding! If you aren’t on there – you should be.  You can follow me here!  I’ll still continue to do these projects and post them here for two reasons…. 1) In the slim chance you haven’t seen it on the world wide web, I can help you with details for your wedding and 2) It’s FUN!  This post is dedicated to making Lace Cones.  Cones are a great way to hold candy for a candy bar at receptions or rose petals for a petal toss exit!  It’s super easy and the lace is so classy.  You can always use other patterned paper to match the theme of your wedding.  Enjoy this easy little project! Hope you can find use for it!  Here’s what you need:

Double sided tape

Lace paper doilies

It’s really this simple…. Put a piece of tape on one side…

Roll and secure! Done and done!

You can jazz these up with ribbon and maybe your wedding monogram! Check out a post on that here.
